The Powers Law Firm is a general practice law office, providing a broad range of legal services throughout the State of Tennessee

In addition to service as the President of the Tennessee Lawyers Association for Women, Ms. Powers is Deputy Speaker of the Tennessee Bar Association's House of Delegates, a member of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Board of Governors, and Chair of the Tennessee Economic Council on Women. She has previously serviced as the City Attorney for the City of Crossville, Chairman of the Crossville - Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce, President of Tennessee Leadership, Legal Counsel for CABLE, General Counsel for the Crossville Housing Authority, Secretary of the Crossville Regional Planning Commission, a Board Member of the Tennessee Trial Lawyers Association, adjunct Professor of Law at Roane State Community College, a board member for Hospice of Cumberland County, and is a graduate of Leadership America.

As frequent speaker and lecturer on gender economic and employment issues, as well as workers compensation, Ms. Powers has often presented seminars for members of the Crossville - Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce and other professional groups. Powers purchased and remodeled the historic Thurman Building located at 79 North Main Street in the early 80's.

During her term as Chairman of the Crossville - Cumberland County Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Powers successfully recruited several international companies to locate in the region and Cumberland County experienced and unprecedented growth in employment.

Powers is a native Tennessean whose ancestors include Nashville founder John Donelson, father of Rachel Donelson Jackson, and is active in state government and legislation.
